Dissemination

In the last decade, the world went through a lot of social transformations which completely changed the way men work.

A constant update and recycling of knowledge is now needed to face the new challenges due to technological advances and new expectations in all fields both in the private and public sectors.

Knowledge and information are keys to be able to face new and fiercely competitive markets.

Education has to be reformed in order to produce professionals that fit into this new world.

In this context, the CMDMC provides courses, seminars, conferences and workshops.

It enables the community to recycle its knowledge and to learn about the center´s new advances in research and technological innovation in the fields of ceramic materials. These are some of Center´s lines of research: Chemical Synthesis, Crystal Growth and Non- Crystalline Materials, Electrochromic and Optical Materials, Ferroelectric Materials and Semiconductors, Superconductors and Magnetic Materials, Refractories and Corrosion, Ceramic Tile, Ceramic Pigments, Electroceramic Devices and Thin Films Ferroelectric.

Another group in the center prepares courses for primary and secondary teachers for three subjects: science, chemistry and physics.

The CMDMC also encourages college students to provide mini - courses, after- class help sessions, projects guidance for primary and secondary students, as well as the promotion of meetings on Science, Chemistry and Physics teaching.

Dissemination and education activities are coordinated by Professor Antonio Carlos Hernandez , who can be reached via e-mail: hernandes@if.sc.usp.br.
